Running Accomplishments:

I participated in my first marathon in Portland '07 and finished at 3:46... My only goal for my first marathon was to finish with 10 minute miles, I didn't really know what to expect. The longest race I had completed was a half marathon  which was quite challenging, it is called The Dirty Half and it is located in Bend, Oregon throughout the race you gain and lose over 1000 feet of altitude and the 10 th mile is one long hill. Yikes. But two years in a row I finished at 1:45 so I felt good about it.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My short term running goals are to finish the Dirty Half this year at 1:37 and to qualify for Boston in the Portland Marathon this year, coming in at 3:35.

Long-Term Running Goals:

My long term goals for running are just to always have the desire and will to keep running every morning and to make my husband complete a marathon. He is considering it.

I ran my 3.4 miles on the treadmill so I started off pretty slow and then increased my pace every ten minutes. I wasn't really trying to run fast I just wanted to run for time. Then when I was done with running I lifted a bit. When my husband got off of work we decided to go running on the river trail. It was pretty nice outside, but the wind started picking up. My husband is trying to get in the groove of running and he has been having some off days. So tonight wasn't one of his feel great running days. But, both of us have been getting over colds and our allergies are starting so our bodies are just wacked. I felt good. But, I love runnning on the trail although there were so many mountain bikers and walkers it kind of annoyed me.

It's so nice of you to run with your friend and then come back with. I'd be Ashley, well even she probably would pass me, but it's great to have to support. Keep up the good work. a 3:46 is an excellent time, and you are so close to your qualifier.

We will see you in Portland this year, we are passing on the Utah tradition of the St. George marathon and have registered for Portland. I can't wait for my rose!
