Running Accomplishments:

I participated in my first marathon in Portland '07 and finished at 3:46... My only goal for my first marathon was to finish with 10 minute miles, I didn't really know what to expect. The longest race I had completed was a half marathon  which was quite challenging, it is called The Dirty Half and it is located in Bend, Oregon throughout the race you gain and lose over 1000 feet of altitude and the 10 th mile is one long hill. Yikes. But two years in a row I finished at 1:45 so I felt good about it.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My short term running goals are to finish the Dirty Half this year at 1:37 and to qualify for Boston in the Portland Marathon this year, coming in at 3:35.

Long-Term Running Goals:

My long term goals for running are just to always have the desire and will to keep running every morning and to make my husband complete a marathon. He is considering it.

I was at work and decided to make time to go for a run before we opened. I am pretty lucky because my work is located on the Deschutes River so there are some pretty nice trails around the river. It was pretty windy which was annoying at first but it made for a nice Easter workout. And it energized me for a long day at work.

The weather has been pretty weird lately. One week it will perfect running weather nice breeze and 55 and the next week it will be 21 and snowing outside with crazy wind. Today was a cold windy day again but I got my running shoes and took my dog with me. He motivates me to go fast and he loves it..The wind got pretty harsh on my way back to my house when I was tying to bring it home with a kick but it make for good resistance but my dog didn't like it much.

well i wanted to go running but i was trying to race time, before my husband got home, so i ended up trying to run pretty quick but the resistance was still there because our weather has been similiar to "narnia". so i did the quick run but i ended up going to the gym and running for 22 minutes on the treadmill trying to just go easy and build some time to my day. So i ended up running on the treadmill 2.7 miles. I also did some one legged squats to try to build my core and my legs.

I know I need to start doing more LSD runs but I always procrastinate before I have to go to work. So today i made my self go for a longer run with my dog but i still always have the habit to race against time. The last race I did the girl that came in first in the 10k said she thought the course was a little long, she raced the 10k quite frequently and i came in second at 46:11 she was 6 minutes faster than me; so today i was kind of interested in seeing if the course was a little long. And i think it was because i didn't feel nearly as exhausted today as i did after the race.

I got my husband to go on a nice run with me before I had to go to work. it was a nice run. But, very cold. The funny thing was that it looked so pleasant outside sunny, not a cloud in the sky; but very cold; bitterly cold. I think it was like 18 degrees. yikes...once we started running though it was a lot better and I got my husband to get out and run with me and the dog....

I wanted to ease into my run alittle this morning. I woke up to snow; yet again. This weather is nuts. I can't wait to go running in shorts and a t shirt. I wanted to slow down my pace and run for time rather pace; sometimes that helps me get use to running longer distances, even though I might not run that much farther.
